Clarity Intelligence

Business Health Review

A practical assessment of the current health, resilience and transferability of the business across Finance & Performance, Commercial, Operations and People.

A business health check built for owner-managed businesses where the owner is close to the work — and for the accountants, solicitors and advisers who want a structured read on a client’s position rather than an impression formed across a desk.

No VAT is charged. Around 35 questions, 20–30 minutes.

Four pillars, and what you want from the business

The same assessment methodology Clarity uses throughout, applied to the health of the business rather than to a transaction. Your answers produce a score for each pillar, the findings those answers trigger, and a prioritised list of what to do about them.

The last few questions ask something the scoring deliberately ignores: what the owners actually want over the next three to five years. Staying put, growing, buying something, handing over, stepping back, or genuinely not having decided are all equally valid answers. They change what we put first — not your score.

Finance & Performance

People

Whether the numbers can be relied on

Reporting speed, the quality of the profit story, cash visibility and working capital. The things that decide whether you are managing the business or reacting to it.

How durable the revenue is

Customer concentration, contracts, pipeline and how much of the commercial relationship sits with you personally rather than with the business.

Whether it runs without you

Documented process, single points of failure, supplier dependency and what would actually happen during a three-month absence.

What the business depends on people for

Management capability, key-person knowledge, retention and succession — the exposures that stay invisible until somebody leaves.

Designed to be repeated

Most owners take a Business Health Review once a year. Each one is kept against the business, so you can see what the position looked like before you made a change and what it looks like after — which is difficult to judge honestly from inside the business.

If your accountant or adviser sent you here

The report is yours. It is written so you can take it back to them and have a more specific conversation than either of you could have had without it. The findings are deliberately framed as things to discuss with the professional who already knows your business, rather than as a reason to engage somebody new.

We ask whether you would like your scores and findings shared with them. If you say no, or we never ask, nothing is sent. Your individual answers are never shared either way, whatever you choose — and choosing no changes nothing about the report you receive or what you pay for it.

Where this sits alongside Exit Readiness

Business Health is the broad, recurring assessment: how the business is performing, how much risk it is carrying, and how much of it depends on you. A business that scores well on those is easier to run, easier to finance and easier to hand over — and, if the question ever arises, considerably better prepared for investment, succession, or a sale.

If a transaction is already in view, the Exit-Readiness Review is the deeper, transaction-focused version of the same methodology.

Scope: the Business Health Review is a diagnostic built from your own answers and Clarity’s assessment methodology. It is not an audit, a valuation, or formal due diligence, and it is not independently verified.
